Safeguarding Honey Bees

Colony Collapse Disorder is a phenomenon that occurs when the majority of worker Bees in a colony disappear and leave behind a Queen. This poses a major threat to populations of Honey Bees. now, Researchers at the University of North Carolina Greensboro are working on innovative ways to safeguard Honey Bees.

Combating plummeting bee populations

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly half of all honey bee colonies across the country died in the 204 season. The factors driving the population down remain unclear, but two scientists have teamed up to save collapsing colonies using an unconventional remedy.
